Changes to the Update an Offer endpoint regarding economicOperatorId field

Placed on:13 December 2024

On December 6th, 2024, we introduced new behavior that made the Update an offer endpoint work more consistently as a PUT endpoint, by making sure that an empty economicOperatorId value as well as a null value would clear the economic operator data from an offer. This change has had an unfortunate side effect, where economic operator data has been unintentionally removed from an offer when no economic operator value was sent in a call.

New situation
On December 13th, 13:30 we implemented a new change where an omitted value no longer removes an economic operator. As of December 13th, there are now three options regarding the economicOperatorId field:

  1. To set an economic operator
    a. {"economicOperatorId": "some-uuid"}
  2. To keep the existing economic operator
    a. {"economicOperator": null}
    b. {}
  3. To unset (remove) an economic operator
    a. {"economicOperatorId": ""}
