Upcoming change: Smarter budget selection in Sponsored Products (effective July 14)

What’s changing?
Starting July 14, if multiple active account budgets have the same end date, we will no longer select the highest remaining amount. Instead, the system will select the oldest budget. This change ensures more efficient use of older budgets and simplifies our billing processes.

Example
Imagine you have the following active budgets on 1 June, all ending on 30 June:

Budget A
Einddatum 30 juni
Aanmaakdatum 1 maart
Resterend bedrag €100

Budget B
Einddatum 30 juni
Aanmaakdatum 15 april
Resterend bedrag €500

Old situation: We picked the one with the most money left (budget B), meaning older budget A might go unused.

New situation: Now we pick the oldest (budget A), so older budgets don’t get left behind.

What does this mean for you?

• This logic will be applied automatically in the background - no action is required on your part for standard use cases.
• If your implementation relies on or overrides budget behavior, you may wish to review your setup.
• Want to prevent an old budget from being used? Simply assign a clear end date.
